Ce matin on coupe les contre-fiches - des supports pour les chevrons...

This morning we cut struts that will support the rafters... 

Et c'est le temps de poser la tôle...

It's time to start laying tin...

Et sur le sol, nous commençons à enlever l'excédant de terre qui entourre la maison...

On the ground we start removing the excess earth that surrounds the house

Et Gerardo continue à poser la taule

And Gerardo keeps laying down the tin roof...

 

     

 

les chevrons - 28 janvier : January 28 - the rafters

Ce matin on défait les moules des linteaux - 

This morning we remove the molds  from the headers

Le bois est rangé; il sera réutilisé dans une prochaine construction...

The wood from the forms is set aside; it will be reused in future construction...

Et on transporte le bois pour les chevrons...

We bring in the wood for the ratfters…

27 janvier - les linteaux January 27 - headers

Lorsqu'on a quitté le site samedi, Gerardo avait fini de poser les blocs sur les murs.

Aujourd'hui il finit de construire les moules des linteaux.

When we left the site Saturday, Gerardo had completed placing the blocks for  the walls.

Today he finishes building the molds for the headers.

Et c'est le temps de mettre la "sopa" dans les moules - un travail fait à la chaine 

afin de couler sans arrêt...

Its time to pour "sopa" into the header molds - a chain-gang is useful 

to keep the supply of sopa flowing...
